Book a Consultation

The Process in our Clinic. What to Expect from the First Call up to the Surgery:

Our process in clinic – what to expect from your first visit to see us:

Introduction

This is a quick guide of what to expect after your first contact with our practice.

Initial Contact

The first contact will be with Vicki or Julie, and we will book in your first consultation. An initial consultation usually lasts 30 minutes to give you time to explore your requirements. The cost of the first consultation cannot be included in the total cost of your procedure, but this is usually the only extra thing you should need to pay for (unless you require an extra compression garment after surgery.)

We are based at The Beeches Consulting Suite in the grounds of the Alexandra Hospital, Mill Lane, Cheadle, SK8 2PX.

First Consultation

The initial consultation marks a milestone on your journey towards plastic surgery. You will meet Mr Winterton in person and discuss the specifics of your desired procedure.

The following elements are typically covered during this consultation:

Initial discussion – this is your opportunity to:

  • Convey your reasons for seeking plastic surgery
  • Discuss your objectives and expectations
  • Ask questions you may have about the procedure
  • Provide information about your medical history
  • Share any allergies or pre-existing conditions you have
  • Inform the clinic about medications or supplements you are currently taking

  Examination:

  • Mr Winterton will examine the area(s) of concern and assess your suitability for the procedure
  • Measurements and photographs may be used
  • Alison, our nurse, will also be with you during the consultation, and can also help with any worries

    Planning discussion:

  • Mr Winterton will explain the surgical options available to you
  • Alternatives or non-surgical options will also be discussed
  • Mr Winterton will explain risks and benefits of any proposed procedure in detail
  • Any clinical questions will be addressed

      Post-consultation planning:

  • Costs, financing and diary bookings can be discussed with the office team after you have seen Mr Winterton
  • Before any cosmetic procedure, you will need a 2nd consultation and sometimes even a 3rd – these consultations are not charged
  • After we are sure everything is ok, The Alexandra pre-op team will take over and arrange your pre-op assessment. This usually involves two phone calls and a visit for blood tests etc

Hope this helps!
